RELIEVING STRESS: Ohio Travel – A Day of relaxation- Dining + 1 Day Hotel Getaway

If I were wealthy or was blessed to have sponsorships, I’d be out of town every weekend, trust me, I have the will. I don’t hide when I am stressed, I take off my makeup and get on the road.

This weekend I decided to treat myself to a nice stay at a nice, peaceful and affordable dinner and hotel. Hotel Indigo was the hotel and the Cedar Creek Grill was where I went to dine. I love the vibe of the hotel, it reminds me of the Ralph Lauren flagship store in Chicago with the horse stirrups on the wall, and the Cedar Creek Grill is relaxing and laid back with its all American menu. It gives a feeling that you’re there with friends and enjoying chill conversations. Get what I’m saying? Laid back.

By the time I left both places I was relieved, I was left with a feeling of euphoria. I took you along with me by chronicling my journey on Youtube. I invite you to watch.

Sincerely,

Kandi

The Gilded Age-Season 1: Episode 1

I love a good period piece. This series delivers and allows us to have a peak into what America grew into, from a period of old money whispers to new money opulence.

The main character, Miss Marian Brook is put into a position by her late father’s squanderous ways to move to “old money” New York with her 2 aunts Miss Agnes van Rhijn (reluctantly) and Ada Brook (progressively) – along the way she meets Miss Peggy Scott who is determined to write a novel. We also get a little insight as to why Agnes is sometimes tart, and sadly it has to do with her late brother and her ex-husband, which allows room for depth of character. Marian is sort of background for me at this point, but I’m looking forward to her character development because she is sort of a rebel.

For good measure Agnes also despises their new money neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Russell who have built an grandiose new home that takes up a block. The Russell’s have money by way of shrewd business practices; plenty of it and aren’t afraid to flaunt it, at one point Mr. Russell slams his boots on an intricate wooden desk “once owned by King Ludwig of Bavaria.” I like the Russell’s because they are ambitious and seem like they won’t stop until they get “everything.” Which makes for an interesting series. I love social climbers (no, I really do) the tenacity is striking.

The colors, the clothing, the drama, the actors have done their job convincing me that this is a series worth tuning into. You should to. Have you watched? If so, leave your comment below I’d be interested.

Sincerely,
