It’s about that time of year again.
Yes, it’s sweater dress time. Goodness knows I love a good, well fitted, modest sweater dress. Out of my winter pile I found my Tori Burch dress which is warm, comfy, and figure flattering all without compromising style. Last year I had a favorite, it’s a red sweater dress that I called a “Power Player.”
First things first, the dress is midnight blue, so many people kept calling it black, but I don’t incorporate black too much into my wardrobe because I think it makes me look drained during the long winter months, plus it interferes with my psyche. Anyway, I purchased this dress at a consignment shop in my state called Clothes Mentor.
The dress is very well made, it has an A-line cut and leather patches on the shoulders, it’s quite fetching. The dress is quite pretty and can stand alone so I go minimal, yet dramatic on the jewelry. I wore my studded suede shoes from DSW and my Henri Bendel Soho Bucket bag (now only available in chestnut brown)
I paired it with my “She’s always right” arrow style earrings and my “Snatched” tribal influenced necklace (comes in gold as well) available at my store Label Me Posh.

Can I just say that at this present moment I am having a love affair with Philip Treacy’s creations! Unbeknownst to me, I’ve had it for a while now but never knew who the designer was.
Philip Treacy is a world renowned miliner whose hats have graced the tops of Sarah Jessica Parker, Grace Jones, the British royal family and Dita Von Teese. I wrote a story with a hat I wore and attached a picture of the Dutchess of Cornwall without realizing it was his design..I just liked that the hat was well made, quirky and stood out.
Philip Treacy is Irish and has been designing hats infamously since 1994. The average price for a new piece of his artwork as I like to call them start at 900.00 USD. But, they ARE guaranteed to make you stand out so, in some circles the price justifies the uniqueness of the product.
Check out his work here.
